How Persona 4 Changed My Life: A Reflection on Pursuing My True Self
As a gamer, I've played my fair share of video games over the years. But few have had as big of an impact on me as Persona 4. After playing the game for the first time a week ago, I was blown away by its depth, its characters, and its themes of self-discovery and acceptance.
One of the things that struck me about Persona 4 was how it made me think more deeply about life and the importance of pursuing our true selves. Throughout the game, the characters are all struggling with their own demons, trying to figure out who they are and what their place is in the world. It's a journey that we can all relate to, as we navigate our own paths and try to find our way in life.
But what I loved most about Persona 4 was how it emphasized the value of accepting all parts of ourselves - even the bad parts. In the game, the characters are forced to confront their shadow selves, which represent the parts of themselves they don't want to acknowledge or accept. It's a powerful message that resonated with me, as it made me realize that the only way to truly be happy and fulfilled in life is to accept all parts of ourselves - the good and the bad.
Aside from its impactful themes, Persona 4 was also just really fun to play. The new remastered version that came out is a great improvement on the original, with updated graphics and gameplay mechanics that make the game even more enjoyable. But what really made the game special were the characters themselves. Each one was unique, well-written, and fully fleshed out, with their own struggles, hopes, and dreams. I found myself becoming deeply invested in their stories, and when the game was over, I felt like I had said goodbye to some old friends. (I'll miss you Nanako hope you're in Persona 6!)
Overall, I have to say that Persona 4 was an incredible experience that left a lasting impact on me. Its themes of self-discovery and acceptance are powerful messages that we can all benefit from, and its characters are some of the most well-written and memorable in any game I've ever played. If you haven't played Persona 4 yet, I highly recommend giving it a try - it just might change your life too.
